    Over the past few years gluten-free diets have become increasingly popular, and people swear by the health benefits of cutting gluten entirely out of their diets. Unfortunately gluten is in a lot of packaged and processed food, making snacking a challenge.

    For those of you who haven’t jumped on the gluten free train yet, gluten refers to the proteins found in in wheat endosperm (a type of tissue produced in seeds that’s ground to make flour).     Foods such as wheat, rye, and barley should always be avoided by people suffering from celiac disease.
